Gentlmen,
I heard a well known Psychologist say last week “any donkey can kick down a barn but it takes a carpenter to build one”. He was referencing the madness that has captured our world. He is talking about the lack of thought, maturity and sense that some people are navigating life with. We are all a part of the world, we have to decide if we are going to be destroyers or builders. Even more wise than this psychologist is the wisdom THE BOOK offers us, consider this Psalm –
A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables – Psalm 24: 3-4
Join us as we pursue this wisdom and desire to build strong homes. Your home is both internal and what you create around you. You have the capacity to gain good sense, to share what you have learned, to encourage other men and to take care of things that are precious and valuable. Don’t waste any more time going after what isn’t good for you and don’t waste any more time allowing your heart and mind to be captured by the noise and madness of the world. Let the spirit and scriptures of the God who loves you take over.
The past couple of months have been full of transitions and new opportunities for the men in our community. I realized… again.. that being alongside of other men, being encouraged by truth and love and finding some time to compete and be challenged are always fruitful and necessary.
We are going to host a pickleball tournament on March 30th. I’ve heard all the rave, yet, have not played this sport. We would love for you to come out and join us, regardless of skill level. For those of you with younger son’s, please bring them to the park. We do ask that guys competing in the pickleball tournament are at least 16 years of age. For younger guys we will figure out an area that they can play in when they are not watching.
After the competition ends you are welcome to join us for lunch at a location TBD. Each man will be responsible for their food at the venue. You are not required or expected to do both if you are not able.
